State Supreme Court Refuses To Remove Judge From Meek Mill’s Case

According to Billboard, Pennsylvania’s highest court has refused to remove Judge Genece Brinkley from Meek Mill’s long-running criminal case.

The music site added that three judges denied Mill’s request Tuesday to replace Brinkley, while three supported it.

And this comes months after Meek Mill’s lawyers accused Brinkley of be biased against him, although the accused judge’s lawyer insists she has been fair towards her handling of the rapper’s case.

The rapper has been fighting to get his 2008 convictions on drug and gun charges thrown out. Last years, Brinkley sentenced Mill in November to 2 to 4 years in prison for violating probation. He spent five months in jail before the state Supreme Court ordered his release.

Now, Mill has lost another fight to get the judge replaced, however Justice David Wecht has said that the rapper can raise the matter again after Monday’s (June 18) hearing before Brinkley.
