Multiple award-winning Nigerian artiste Iyanya has announced his exit from Mavin Records slightly a year after he joined the Don Jazzy-led record label.
Explaining why his sound changed when he was with Mavin Records, he noted that; “I like to try new sounds,” and he attributed the change to “working with different producers, writers.”
“The fan base has grown; I have fans here and abroad. Some people like the new sound but some people are stuck in the old sound. Shout out to Don Jazzy. He influenced my new sound,” he added.
During his short-lived stay in Mavin Records, Iyanya released an eight-track EP titled ‘Signature’ that included his debut track at the label, ‘Up 2 Something’ and hit song ‘Hold On’.
Temple Music was launched in August 2017, with 9ice, Bisola Aiyeola, DJ Jimmy Jatt, named among the pioneer artistes.
