Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was embarrassed by a man who walked up to him to slapped him twice and called him ‘piece of sh*t’.
Weinstein and his sober coach went for dinner at the Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley around 9 P.M. on Tuesday, January 9, he was approached by a man named Steve at an adjacent table asked to take a photo with him. Steve tells TMZ Weinstein was belligerent and said no, while a restaurant manager said Weinstein was “sweet” and politely declined
When Weinstein and his sober coach got up to leave, the attacker told his friend to start filming what was about to happen. The man was seen in the video saying, “You’re such a piece of s**t for what you did to these women,” and giving Weinstein two backhanded slaps to the face. Steve claims he had “quite a bit to drink.”
Weinstein’s representative Sallie Hofmeister tells The Arizona Republic in an email that TMZ’s report was accurate, but would not provide further comment. The site reports that Weinstein declined to call police and left the restaurant. The Paradise Valley Police Department also says no report has been filed regarding the incident, but if Weinstein were to file a report, the department would investigate it as a misdemeanor assault.
Weinstein is reportedly undergoing rehab after many women accused him of sexual misconducts. The 65-year-old former movie producer has since been fired from The Weinstein Company and is now a subject of investigations in several jurisdictions.
Among the alleged victims were Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, Angelina Jolie, Cara Delevingne, Lea Seydoux, Lupita Nyong’o and Lena Headey.
