New means of selling events in Nigeria is definitely through strategic PR aside other publicities and controversies. This was seen at Wizkid’s concert that reunited Davido and Wizkid on Christmas eve and Davido’s ‘30 Billion Concert’, which brought out the defunct Mo’Hits Records’ crew, just to mention a few.
Mo’Hits crew performed one of their popular songs, ‘Booty Call’ and the eventgoers at the ’30 Billion Concert’ went awed. Davido had earlier announced there’d be a surprise at his concert, he delivered the surprise and left beautiful smiles on the faces of his fans.
Inasmuch as many didn’t expect Davido’s surprise was going to be ‘Mo’Hits’ – a boy band that has not performed together in ‘full’ since things fell apart between them in 2012, took the stage to thrill fans at the concert on December 27, 2017.
Speaking ahead of the ’30 Billion Concert’ held at the Eko hotel in Lagos, Davido promised his fans a ‘mental’ night, which everyone present had. “Thank you Lagos!! ❤️❤️ Tonite will be mental!! EVERYTHING SOLD OUT!! 30 BG!! SHUTDOWN! SEE YOU TONITE!!”. On having Mo’Hits crew to perform, the ‘If’ crooner said it took him two months to get them to agree.
Handling the microphone to deliver magic last night was Don Jazzy, D’Banj, Wande Coal, Ikechukwu and Kay Switch who performed a then popular anthem – ‘Booty Call’ without skipping any line of the lyrics.
