Beyoncé Commemorates International Day Of The Girl With New Video, ‘Freedom’
‘Freedom’ video showcased a series of shocking statistics, from a girl dying as a result of violence every five minutes to girls being twice as likely to become infected with HIV
Known for her involvement in benevolent activities, Beyonce Knowles releases brand new inspiring video for ‘Freedom’ to observe International Day of the Girl on Wednesday, October 11.
The song ‘Freedom’ is housed in Beyonce’s 2016 revealing album ‘Lemonade’. ‘Freedom’ video showcased a series of shocking statistics, from a girl dying as a result of violence every five minutes to girls being twice as likely to become infected with HIV.
The Chime for Chane and The Global Goals co-produced flick outlined the challenges related to health, education and violence. The video ended by challenging viewers to aid in tackling a series of “global goals” by the year 2030: ending child marriage, putting all girls in school, ending the AIDS epidemic and ending all forms of violence toward girls.
The also clip asked viewers to “share the film and tell us what #freedomforgirls is to you.” Sharing the video on her official facebook page, Beyonce wrote, “Today is #DayoftheGirl. Girls around the world are fighting for their freedom every day. Join me, Chime for Change and The Global Goals by taking action for #FreedomForGirls now: www.globalgoals.org/dayofthegirl.”
