French giants Paris Saint-Germain have followed up their world-record signing of Neymar by landing French teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe for a staggering £160million.
PSG, still in the spotlight after pulling off the Neymar heist from Barca, have now edged Real Madrid to sign the highly-rated teenager in what would be a blockbuster attacking partnership at the Parc des Princes this season.
Monaco had been insistent they wanted to hold on to the teenager despite strong interest from Real Madrid, but they were unable to resist the financial power of the Parisians who’ve shook up the summer transfer with their £360million double swoop for Mbappe and Neymar.
According to the Sun, Mbappe was convinced after a meeting with PSG boss Unai Emery that guaranteed him regular first team football this season despite the £198m spent to prise Neymar away from Barca.
His stunning capture brings the total amount spent by PSG this summer to an eye-watering £372.5m, including the (£14.5m) capture of Spanish left-back Yuri Berchiche.
There had been questions regarding breach of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play rule after the Neymar deal, but the French giants were confident they were in the clear and have now made the strongest statement of intent this season.
The popular French professional footballer scored 26 goals in a breakout campaign last season as Monaco beat PSG to the Ligue 1 title, and he’ll be expected to replicate that form for Unai Emery’s men.
