Giroud and Ramsey to miss out of Swansea clash

Arsene Wenger has confirmed striker Olivier Giroud and midfielder Aaron Ramsey are both unavailable for Saturday’s visit of Swansea.

Giroud has been struggling with a toe injury since last month’s Champions League draw with Paris Saint-Germain.

While Ramsey has been out of action since picking up a hamstring problem in the opening defeat to Liverpool.

The pair were expected to be fit after the international break, but Wenger has confirmed they are both unavailable for selection.

Wenger said: “Giroud will not be available. Ramsey will not be available.”

But midfielder Francis Coquelin and defender Carl Jenkinson are both back in contention.

Oquelin suffered a knee injury in the win over Chelsea and missed games against Burnley and Basel, while Jenkinson has been sidelined since January with cruciate ligament damage.

Wenger also added that “Coquelin is back. Apparently we have good news (from international players).

“[Jenkinson] will be back tonight playing with the Under-23s. He is available to compete for places”
