Young Rapper Kodak Black Sentenced 120 Days In Jail
Kodak Black has been sentenced to 120 days in jail for two drug charges.
According to the Sun Sentinel, the 19-year-old, whose legal name is Dieuson Octave, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana, as well as one misdemeanor charge of use or possession of marijuana paraphernalia; however, the report states that Kodak will not have to serve the full four months as he will be credited with the time he already served in jail.
Additionally, Kodak’s license will be suspended for a year, and he’s required to pay court costs of $298, according to records.
He’s expected to be released from jail on Nov. 30; however, his legal troubles will be far from over. Just last month, it was reported that Kodak was accused of sexual battery. The accusations stem from a February incident that took place in a Florence, S.C., hotel room. According to the Sun Sentinel, it’s unclear when he will be transported to South Carolina to face the charges.
Earlier this year, Kodak was incarcerated after he was charged with armed robbery and false imprisonment. Though he was originally scheduled to be set free after 91 days, his release was pushed back after authorities discovered he had two active arrest warrants—one for the aforementioned drug charges, the other for the sexual battery charge.
