Lady Gaga has revealed that she has been battling with depression for years now.
Days ago, the 30-year-old singer dropped her first single in three years titled Perfect Illusion and she exclusively told The Mirror why she took some time off from the music scene. “I needed a moment to stabilise. When my career took off, I don’t remember anything at all. It’s like I’m traumatised. I needed time to recalibrate my soul.” she stated.
Lady Gaga also admitted to suffering a period of depression after releasing her last pop album in 2013. “I felt exhausted – like I was dying” she confessed.
Gaga, who recently took a break from her actor fiance Taylor Kinney after five years together, added that she takes medication to help with the depression. “I’m not saying I feel good because of the medication – I wouldn’t encourage young people to take anti-depressants or mood stabilisers.” she added.
Now, Lady Gaga is back on her feet and ready to give her fans the best of her music.
