Nigerian energetic singer, Omawumi Megbele-Yusuf who has been quiet in the industry for a while now has revealed she’s been busy working on her new album. “I have been recording my next album for three years,” she said in a recent interview.
Following the release of her latest single “Play Na Play” with Beninese-born American Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and activist, Angélique Kidjo months ago, Omawumi stated that her album will be released unfailingly before the end of this quarter.
While speaking with HipTV, the mother-of-two also spoke on the current situation of Nigeria’s economy and how it has affected the entertainment industry. The chubby singer thinks the recession hasn’t affected the industry much, but, admitted that entertainers are not getting jobs like they used to.
Omawumi further stipulated that, the current economic recession is a sign that good things are coming ahead, “without the bad, you cannot enjoy the good,” she concluded.
