Amber Rose is the cover girl for the October issue of Cosmopolitan South Africa, the businesswoman and mother of one bared all in her interview. She touched on her businesses, foundation, relationships and of course society’s reaction to her infamous stripper past, according to usmagazine.
Dragging actor – Channing Tatum into the mix, the former video vixen noted that they basically have the same story, and wonders why she gets bashed for being a former stripper while Tatum receives a pat on his back.
“He even made a movie about being a stripper! And everyone bought it and they loved it and they were like, ‘Oh, my God, Magic Mike, we gotta go see it!,’ she stated.
“But if I did that, people would tell me I was disgusting.”
“I run eight business, I’m the CEO of my own company, and still I’m called a stripper. It’s so ridiculous. We’ve had the same life, [Channing] and I, and I’m dumbed down for it. It’s not his fault — it’s just society.”
The talk show host and author who was embroiled in a twitter feud with ex-husband -Wiz Khalifa last week, stressed that none of her exes were responsible for her success.
“Everything I’ve done, I’ve worked hard for.”
“Anyone can have fame, but I’ve started companies. I’ve brought my brand to the next level. Nobody did that but me. No one is going to dim my light.” she said to Cosmopolitan South Africa.
Society’s perception of Amber gave rise to her yearly Amber Rose SlutWalk under her Amber Rose Foundation.
The event is designed to promote discussion about women’s rights and equality issues, and to empower women and rightly so.
“About two years ago, something clicked.”
“I thought, ‘You know what? I’m just gonna do me and if people don’t like it, they don’t have to.’ It really helped me to have a happier life,” she noted on finding her confidence and sense of self.
The magazine will hit the stands today.
