I Believe In Good Stories, Not Known Actors –Bovie Speaks On His New Movie

Nigerian standup comedian, Bovi delved into movie production recently and he will be premiering his debut movie as a producer, “It’s Her Day” on September 9, 2016.

“It’s Her Day” talked about, a soon-to-be wed couple from different backgrounds who have contrasting ideas of what their wedding day should be like. The husband-to-be, Bovi who has to deal with the demands and antics of his fiancée and her sisters during his wedding preparations.

Speaking on the forthcoming movie, the funny man revealed he started out as an actor in 2004, he also worked with Richard Mofe Damijo as his personal assistant. “I started out as an actor. I have conquered the stage and film is the next stage for me. Film has always been in the picture,” he said. Bovi also featured in the sitcom, “Extended Family” which he also conceptualized and produced in 2007.

On his love for new faces in the industry,  Bovi said, “Ï am not a strong believer in the known faces, not because they can’t deliver their lines. I believe in good stories and it’s not that established actors don’t sell any more. We know they drive traffic to the cinemas.”

Bovi’s upcoming romantic movie, “It’s Her Day” is directed by Aniedi Anwah. Bovi basically featured new faces with the exception of Omoni Oboli and Amanda Ebeye. The new faces include Ini Dima-Okojie, Shaffy Bello, Toni “Tones” Adefuye, Thelma Ezeamaka, Enajite Dede and Gregory Ojefua.
