Multiple sources have confirmed that singer Taylor Swift will not be attending this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) which is billed to hold this Sunday, August 28.
The Blank Space singer, who bagged four awards at the ceremony last year, was noticeably snubbed in this year’s nominations despite two of her videos – Out of The Woods and Wildest Dreams – being eligible. But sources claim this is not the reason why Taylor decided to skip the show.
According to reports, rapper Kanye has been given ‘creative freedom’ to do whatever he wants during his performance at the awards show and it’s no news that Taylor Swift and Kanye are currently feuding.
Recall the two artistes first had beef when Kanye ruined Taylor Swift’s 2009 VMA moment after she won the award for the Best Female Video. Kanye grabbed the mic from Swift while she gave her acceptance speech, saying Beyonce should have won the award instead of her.
The two finally made peace until recently when Kanye reignited their feud following the release of his song Famous in which he called Taylor a ‘b*tch and she threatened to sue him.
Now Kanye had been given 4 minutes to do what he pleases during his performance and we all know Kanye to be very controversial. So, we think it’s a good idea Taylor is sitting out on this year’s show.
