Rihanna is up for a prestigious recognition award at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards that will be staged in New York’s Madison Square Garden on August 28.
RiRi follows Justin Timberlake who got the special award in 2013, Beyonce Knowles in 2014, and Kanye West in 2015.
The “Umbrella” crooner is expected to perform medley of her biggest hits before receiving Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Other past recipients include the King of Pop himself, Madonna, Guns N’ Roses, Beastie Boys and Britney Spears. The award was created in 1984 and then renamed after MJ in 1991.
