Students of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) staged a mass protest in the early hours of today.
The protest is said to be over serial cases or robbery incidents in the school. The students are infuriated due to the great number of students that have fallen victim of the robbery cases. Many have been said to be injured and numerous gadgets carted away in the robbery incidents.
However, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Olusola Oyewole alongside the University Bursar, Mr. Moses Ilesanmi, are currently being quizzed at the Iyaganku, Ibadan office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) due to an alleged case of abuse of office and misappropriation of funds reported against the management, the university, and some members of the Governing Council.
A petition by Concerned Stakeholders of the University, accused the Pro Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of “unbridled corruption and betrayal of public trusts.
