Karrueche Tran continues to win as she flourishes after her breakup last year. After winning an Emmy for best Digital Daytime Drama series for her role in The Bay and starring in multiple TV movies, she’s now been cast in a television show!
The model-turned-actress is set to star alongside Niecy Nash in TNT’s ‘Claws.’
The show is an hourlong scripted dramedy set in a Southern Florida nail salon, from Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s Le Train Train.
Written and co-executive produced by Eliot Laurence (Welcome to Me), Claws is said to be in the vein of Desperate Housewives. It follows the lives of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists. It soon becomes clear there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than silk wraps and pedicures.
In her first series regular TV role, Tran will play manicurist Virginia. Full of attitude, she has been filling in at the nail salon and makes no effort to hide her boredom and impatience with the job. Nash plays Desna Simms, the owner of the salon.
Tran co-starred in and produced The Bay digital series, sharing in the show’s best Digital Daytime Drama series Emmy. She recently starred in the movie A Weekend with the Family.
