As we approach the last quarter of the year, a couple of television shows will be making their debut while others will be returning for a new season. Some of the shows expected to return include Bloodline and How To Get Away With Murder.
We will however be taking a look at some of the shows that will be making a debut on television and on Netflix Originals.
The Night Of
The Night Of is an American eight-part crime drama television miniseries based on Criminal Justice, a 2008–09 British television series.
The show follows the story of Nasir “Naz” Khan (Riz Ahmed) who is caught up in a complex Web of a New York City murder case which had cultural and political overtones. A night that begins innocently for Nasir “Naz” Khan, a Pakistani-American college student turns horrific after he meets a mysterious young woman.
In custody and awaiting his formal arraignment, Naz realizes that his survival depends on a particular inmate at Rikers Island. The only helping hand he gets is that of his lawyer played by John Turturro.
Preacher is a story about one-time outlaw Jesse Custer played by Dominic Cooper who returns home to West Texas to take over his dad’s church.
Jesse’s mission, however, becomes twisted when his body is overcome by a cryptic force that unleashes within him a highly unconventional power.
The show is based on the cult comic by Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon and has recently been renewed for an extended second season.
Stranger Things is an American science fiction horror web television which follows the disappearance of a young boy, and a telekinetic girl who helps his friends in their search, while the boy’s older brother and the town police chief start their own investigations. The series stars classic actress Winona Ryder, a cute upcoming actress Natalia Dyer, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown and Caravan Buono.
The series’ first season was released on Netflix on July 15, 2016 and has received positive reviews for its characterization, pacing, atmosphere, acting and writing.
