When Kas sang Fimile baby Fimile and Nigerians left him alone for good, I thought our modern day young musicians were going to take a cue from his misdemeanour but no they never learn from mistakes. Don’t ever go against the majority when you are just a minority. Here’s another example Dammy Krane ( minority ) earlier this year went against Nigeria’s favorite artist ( majority ) Wizkid in an uncalled for situation and now the rest is history.
Oyindamola “Dammy Krane” Johnson Emmanuel, 23, has been a professional performing act since year 2010 when he dropped ” I Like Girls” which featured Piper and flowsick ; he has since grown to be a strong B list celebrity. He did that with the help of Tu Face Idibia who signed him in 2012 and his mum ( a manager in the fuji music industry ) .
The very energetic performer took the L this year when he made the wrong move by using Drake’s friend and billboard topper Wizkid for publicity stunt, claiming the latter stole his song/slang whilst he recorded projects in his studio. Wizzy who did little or nothing to Dammy’s allegation ( except bursting the former’s jaw with a glass cup ) but let karma take his cause by ending the already crippling career. This year Dammy dropped “Izzue” feat Davido which brought some wave back but not strong enough to keep him in our hearts. The song peaked at major music countdowns across the nation and got millions of download online. The song is still very major in the club no doubt , my problem is WHERE IS DAMMY KRANE?
It might not have been the wave of Wizkid that settled Dammy’s tide, it might not have been karma, it might not have been what I think it is but I sincerely wish him well and hope he gets back to our television screen soon enough or there will be an izzue this time.
