Tyga: ‘Relationship With Kylie Jenner ‘Overshadowed’ My Musical Talents’
Tyga has claimed his music career suffered set back because of his relationship with Kylie Jenner. In a radio interview with Big Boy TV the “Hookah” rapper opened up about breakup with Kylie, he also addressed rumors that he’s dating lingerie model, Demi Rose following his split from the 18-year-old reality star.
“I’m single. I’m enjoying life,” Tyga replies when asked if he has moved on with Demi.
He explains his split from Kylie, “Being in a very public relationship like that, it’s hard for other people to see you differently. It overshadowed a lot of my talents and a lot of things I worked hard for.”
Tyga says his split from the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star was mutual.
“I think it just got to the point where it was like, you know, ‘I respect you, you respect me,’ and you know…maybe later on in life, maybe we might come back, you know what I’m saying? But right now I want to focus on what I want to do. I think it’s just a mutual thing…Like, this is what needs to happen, because when something is so damaged, or something is just not right, like you can’t fix it in the moment. The only thing is time.”
The rapper admitted the constant media attention took a toll on their relationship, and that Kylie’s age may have been a factor in why they didn’t work out. “And I think for her, as well…she’s young,” Tyga said.
“And when you’re young, you’re going to make mistakes and kind of all of those mistakes are going to be in the public eye, so it puts a lot of strain on that relationship, you know what I mean?”
“That’s why for me, I just wanted to focus on like my career,” he explained. “I’ve done so much stuff over the last couple years…I just wanted to get back to me.”
