Ibrahimovic has announced on his official Instagram account that he has signed for United.
The Sweden international has been tipped to sign for the Red Devils for months and the deal has finally been completed. United are yet to officially announce the striker’s arrival but in typical Zlatan style, the 34-year-old has jumped the gun with the hashtag #iamcoming
The star arrives on a free transfer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired today – ending a four-year stay with the French club. United boss Jose Mourinho has previously worked with the striker at Inter Milan and the pair are known to be good friends.
In his autobiography I am Zlatan, he wrote: Jose Mourinho is a big star. He’d been my manager at Inter. He’s nice.
” The first time he met my partner Helena, he whispered to her: ‘Helena, you have only one mission: feed Zlatan, let him sleep, keep him happy.’ That guy says whatever he wants. I like him. He’s the leader of his army. But he cares, too. He would text me all the time at Inter, wondering how I was doing. Mourinho would become a guy I was basically willing to die for.”
Ibrahimovic will become Mourinho’s second United signing, having already snapped up centre-back Eric Bailly from Villarreal earier this month.
